Let Us Showcase Your Little One or Teen Reading

Submissions Guidelines

• Email Your Submissions to Diversekidsbooks (at) gmail (dot) com
• In the subject line write “Children Read Submission” and the type of submission
• Example: Subject: Children Read Submission –Photo
• In the body of the email list first and last name of child and parent, the title and author of the work being read in the photo/video and a short description of the character’s background.
• We accept photos or videos of children (zero to seventeen-years-old) reading or reciting published or original stories or poems.

Photo Submissions

1. Photo should feature a child that falls into one of the six categories below reading a book with a protagonist that falls into one of the six categories below.

OR

2. Photos should feature parents/adults reading a book with a protagonist that falls into one of this site’s categories of underrepresented protagonists.

Video Submissions should

1. feature a child that falls into a group underrepresented in children’s and teen literature reading a book or poem or reciting a story or poem with any subject.

OR

2. Video should feature a child from any family structure or heritage reading a book or poem or reciting a story or poem with a protagonist or subject matter that falls into category underrepresented in children’s and teen literature.

3. Videos should be no longer than 4 minutes long and opening image should be a photo of child with parent(s) or guardian(s)
